Hello friends! My name is Jorge Rogelio Vicente Cortez the 3rd, but you can call me Jorge! I’m a 50lb Rhodesian/Black mouth cur mix and was born on July 4, 2021. I’ve come a long way since my early days in Ensenada, MX. I was rescued from a scary situation where I spent hours cramped in a small and unsafe crate. Luckily, The Cantu Foundation stepped in and brought me to their sanctuary in Tijuana. There, I found my loving nature and became known as the “kiss toll operator,” greeting everyone with a wagging tail & a ton of affection. I thrive on being close to my humans and showering them with kisses!
I’ve had a few foster homes, and it’s been a journey of growth for me. I used to struggle with separation anxiety and was a bit skittish, especially around sudden movements. However, my current foster family has been amazing. They’ve helped me feel secure and loved, and I even have three furry siblings to hang out with. We love to bask in the sun together and go on pack walks, which are the highlight of my day!
I’m fully potty trained and crate trained, and I’ve learned to feel comfortable in my crate—even when the door is open. My crate has become my little sanctuary. I am fully neutered, vaccinated potty trained & ready to find my furever home!
While I enjoy the company of my foster siblings, quick movements can startle me but I’m learning to trust and open up. I’m affectionate and cuddly, always ready for a snuggle session or a lazy day lounging around. However, I do experience mild separation anxiety, so I prefer to be in a calm, loving environment where I can feel safe and secure. I’d thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard, older children, and other dogs, as long as they are introduced properly!
Overall, I’m a happy, loving guy who just wants to find my furever home. I enjoy car rides and would love a family that appreciates my gentle spirit and allows me to take my time adjusting. I’m good with dogs but I’ve never met a kitty! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your life with kisses, cuddles and happiness, I might just be the perfect match for you!
